Critical Incident Stress Information
Welcome to CFD CISD/Peer Support information page What Is C.I.S.D. and Peer Support? CISD stands for Critical Incident Stress Debriefing. Critical incident debriefings are facilitator-led processes conducted soon after a traumatic event for a group of people who are experiencing or at risk for a stress reaction. The best practice is for a CISD to occur within 72 hours. Carlsbad Fire has dedicated members who are trained to facilitate these events. These members are also trained in Peer Support. In peer support programs for responders, responders provide support for each other.
